Counselor in Training (CIT)

All programs are based on the grade your camper(s) will enter in the fall.

Day Camp Director: Daniel Stahl

Campers who enroll for the CIT program must be at least 13 years old and/or entering 9th Grade in the fall (2026). CITs will spend some time shadowing camp troops and staff, with time dedicated to developing individual skills as counselors such as learning first aid, conflict resolution, and troop management.

CITs are given opportunities to plan and lead different troop activities and events throughout the summer. This year’s CITs may be eligible for full-time employment next season as junior counselors, with preference given to those who have completed at least six weeks of the CIT program. CITs participate in workshops and discussions to learn about basic childcare, behavior management techniques, communication skills, camp organization, activity planning, job application, first aid, leadership, and so much more!

For a portion of each day, CITs gain valuable hands-on experience while working in troops and activities under the guidance of our professional camp staff.

HOW TO APPLY

Prospective CITs are required to complete an application and ask two adults to complete a recommendation (at least one current teacher; no family members). Recommendations must be sent prior to May 1, 2026.

All applications and recommendations are due no later than May 1, 2026.
