General Information

Lunch

Campers attending a morning program until 12:00 and an afternoon program begining at 1:00 will attend a supervised lunch period in our dining room from 12:00 - 12:45. All other campers, including afternoon Day Camp participants, eat lunch with their respective programs. Lunch is available for an additional fee of $25/week. Log in to choose your camper's meals with our on-line menu ordering program, which you can view from the shopping cart.  To select from the menu you must be logged-in.

Carpool

If you are interested in listing your name on our carpool list, please email the following information to the summer programs office at summer@gacamp.org 

Please include:  Your name, General neighborhood, Weeks attending, Times (half day or full day), and contact information (email address and/or phone number).  On June 1, we will share this information with all other parents who have signed up for the carpool list.  Someone from our office will verify that all people listed are parents or designated guardians of children enrolled at our camp.  Participation is completely voluntary, and it is your responsibility to make the actual transportation arrangements.  

Extended Day

Germantown Academy Summer Programs provides supervision for children who need to arrive early and/or stay on campus beyond the regular programs hours.  Several enrollment options are available.

The hours and general parameters of the AM and PM sessions are described below.

AM Session: 7:00AM - 8:45AM
PM Session:  3:30PM - 6:00PM

1.  Full-time:  Enrolling in the AM or PM sessions 5 days/wk.  Cost:  $50.00 per week for each session  $100.00 per week for both sessions every day.
2.  Part-time:  Register in advance for specified sessions Cost:  $11.00 per session
3.  Drop-In:  Daily as needed, no pre-registration Cost:  $15.00 per session

Health Services

Health and safety are very important to us. In order for us to effectively care for your child in the event of illness or injury, you are required to complete health information for each camper as part of the registration process. Germantown Academy employs a full-time nurse and athletic trainer to meet the health needs of your child. No child will be permitted to begin camp without completed health information.

ATTENTION: For those campers already registered in a previous summer, completion of the new registration process ensures that you will have an opportunity to review the health information.  Please review the information to be sure that it is still current. 
 

A medication form will be necessary for those children who require medication to be administered at camp.  Please click here to download the form, or call the camp office to have one mailed or faxed to you.  

NO CHILD WILL BE PERMITTED TO BEGIN CAMP WITHOUT PROVIDING THE NECESSARY HEALTH INFORMATION.  

Early Bird Discount

A 10% discount will be applied to camp fees and extended day fees for each camper who is enrolled in at least three weeks of camp and has paid all camp fees in full by March 10, 2010. This discount does not apply to lunch fees or programs added to the camper’s account after March 10.

Refund Protection

  • If you cancel for any reason before May 31, 2010 you will receive a refund of all fees paid, minus the $100 deposit. We do not issue refunds after May 31 unless you purchase our Refund Protection plan.

  • With the purchase of the Refund Protection plan, Germantown Academy will reimburse parents 75% of the unused portion of camp fees for a valid medical withdrawal that is accompanied by a written request from a doctor. Cost of the Refund Protection Plan is $20 per camper.

Service Charge

A service charge of $25 will be assessed for any changes made to a camper's schedule after May 31, 2010.  Please email us at summer@gacamp.org with any changes to your account.
There will be a charge of $35 assessed for any check returned by the bank.  

Visitor/Guest Policy

Campers wishing to have a guest to camp must have prior approval from the Director of Summer Programs. Guests must complete a registration form and a health form prior to attending camp.  The daily charge for guests is $50.00 payable before or on the day of the scheduled visit.

Swimming

Germantown Academy has a 25-yard indoor pool, staffed by experienced, certified lifeguards.  Recreational swimming is included in our sports camps and afternoon day camp schedule.  Daily group swimming lessons are provided to participants who are enrolled in Day Camp all day.  Towels for swimming are provided.
