READING AND WRITING WORKSHOP

This course helps students improve their reading, writing, and study skills. Students will work on strengthening these areas through a variety of activities in and out of class. Reading selections will include fiction and nonfiction. Working individually and in groups, students will develop their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and expository writing abilities. Using content area material, students will practice how to read a textbook, take notes, prepare an outline, and study for a test. Daily instruction in grammatical concepts will also be provided. Open to students entering grades 6-7.
