For students entering grades 8-11, this course emphasizes the structure of algebra and basic algebraic procedures. Topics include the properties of and how to solve linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, solving systems of equations, graphing polynomial and rational equations as well as systems of equations, the properties of rational expressions, arithmetic operations with rational expressions, logarithms, exponents, basic trigonometry, and word problems applying all these topics.
